Representing an intimate world in which the female body flourishes and free itself from any shame or trauma that society may have inflicted on her, Blooming Body captures the female figure blossoming like a blooming flower. A series of 9 embroideries existing within transparent boxes shows the evolution of fulfillment and freedom from the feminine cliché of patience, docility, and virtue.
Cotton threads existing within the transparent boxes forms the figures, each capturing a stage of evolution. These threads continue and escape from the transparent box, a symbolization for the desire of fulfillment and liberation. Hung within spaces, this series of pieces invited viewers to examine the nature of these intimate worlds.
